When I started TheDesignAir over a decade ago, it was never meant to be just another travel or aviation website. It was born out of frustration with generic press releases, recycled airline imagery, and surface-level coverage that rarely asked why things looked, felt, or worked the way they did. I wanted a space that treated airline cabins, lounges, branding, uniforms, hotels, and experiences with the same critical eye you would give architecture, fashion, or industrial design.

Today, TheDesignAir remains proudly independent, ad-free, and editorially honest. There are no banner ads. No sponsored pop-ups. What you read here is driven by curiosity, critique, and a genuine love of great design and great travel experiences.
But independence comes at a cost. Behind every story is time spent researching, travelling, photographing, writing, editing, hosting, and maintaining the site. It is evenings, early mornings, and long flights turned into thoughtful analysis rather than quick headlines. It is also the very real cost of keeping the platform fast, clean, and distraction-free.

So today, I’m asking for your help. If you value what TheDesignAir stands for, thoughtful storytelling, honest opinion, design-led insight, and a site that respects your time and attention, I’d love for you to consider making a small donation to help keep it going.
There’s no subscription. No content locked behind a paywall. Just an open invitation to support independent publishing, if you’re able to. Every contribution, whether it’s the price of a coffee or a little more, helps keep TheDesignAir ad-free and allows me to continue investing time and care into the stories you come here to read.
If you’d like to support the site, you can donate easily via PayPal below.
Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for being part of TheDesignAir community. Your support genuinely means more than you know.

As I do every year, I ask on your kind support to keep things going. If you are able to donate – whatever amount – it all gets funnelled back in to the site, to keep the site full of content. And I thank you personally for your kind support.
